What is education Hour?
Education hour occurs on Sunday mornings before worship from 9:30am-10:20am. During this hour we will offer spiritual formation and discipleship opportunities for those of all ages! Education Hour is broken up into sessions that are 4-7 weeks in length, so you only need to commit to a few weeks at a time. This gives folks the opportunities to switch up what they are involved in, maybe lead a small group one session, attend one the next, and volunteer for Godly Play the next!

Sunday School
Our new curriculum, Godly Play is a Montessori-based method of Christian education that uses storytelling, wonder, and play to nurture children's spiritual growth and understanding of faith.

Sunday School Schedule
Sunday School will follow the same schedule as all of education hour, breaking it up into sessions to give volunteers a chance to rotate. Our first session we are calling Fall 1 will be from September 20th- October 18th. Here is a sneak peek at the lessons for the Fall 1 session!
September 20th: The Circle of the Church Year
September 27th: The Holy Bible

Don't forget to register your child
In accordance with our Safe Sanctuaries policy, all children involved in Sunday School must be registered. Registering gives us helpful information about emergency contacts, behavioral information, parental contact information, media release consent. It is most helpful if you register ahead of time, but if you haven't registered yet and bring your child to Sunday School, no worries we can get you registered then.
Consider volunteering!
You can learn more about volunteering for Sunday School by attending our Children's Ministry Volunteer Training on Sunday August 30th from 9:30am-10:20am. If you plan to attend please register HERE! Questions? Contact Lauren Rheingans | lrheingans@centennialumc.org.
Discipleship & Spiritual Formation
Discipleship & spiritual formation is one of the core foundations of a person's faith. We know people have busy lives so our small group's will rotate with each session, so you only need to commit a few weeks of time per small group.

Speaking Up for Democracy
When: *this group doesn't follow the same schedule as the rest of Education Hour and will run from September 13th-October 4th, from 9:15am-10:30am.
Where: Classroom 1 (downstairs)
Leaders: Constance Gruen | cgruen50@gmail.com 651-925-9929 & Amy Swalley | lundswalley@gmail.com 612-750-9783
What: We are living in a time when faith is often talked about, but not always lived in ways that reflect the heart of Jesus. Too often, Christianity is used to divide, exclude, or harm. But the way of Jesus is different. It is rooted in love. In justice. In mercy. In community. This journey is about reclaiming that way -- together.
