Our Mission

At Centennial United Methodist Church we invite everyone to seek God in their lives by providing many pathways for creating authentic, active, thinking followers of Jesus who go out and build loving and just communities.

Our Values

ACTIVE | We are actively involved in our immediate Roseville & St. Anthony Park communities through a variety of service opportunities. We want to be a faith community that makes a positive and lasting impact on our neighbors through acts of service and justice. Join us for an upcoming Service Event to actively make the world a more loving and just place!

THINKING | We have a long-standing relationship with institutions of higher education such as Hamline University, the University of Minnesota, and Luther Seminary. It is important that we honor and include our intellectual capacities in our spiritual lives. Head over to listen to one of our Sermons and/or join one of our Interest groups to think more deeply with us about living out our faith in this world.

AUTHENTIC | We believe that our love of God and neighbor is best done when we are wholly and fully ourselves. We know that there are many pathways to being a Jesus-follower, and we try to create as many of those as possible for people in our community. We also seek to create a culture that safely supports the expression of honesty and vulnerability. Perhaps one of the best expressions of Centennial's value of authenticity is through our Music Groups & Events, as well as during Sunday Worship. We hope you join us for one or all of those events!

All Are Welcome ... All Means All

Centennial United Methodist Church has a place for you. We believe God welcomes all people. We value diversity and recognize the sacred worth of each person, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental ability, economic means, marital status, education, or faith story.

With open hearts and minds, Centennial United Methodist Church is a Reconciling Congregation. If this is your first visit, welcome. If you are returning, welcome home.

We embrace diversity in our volunteers and staff, and therefore we do not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity in any level of leadership. We are currently discerning whether to officiate same-sex weddings in our buildings, and we will reach a decision by the end of 2020.

Our History

Centennial’s history is a tale of two communities. As the railroad suburb of St. Anthony Park began to grow on the northwest corner of St. Paul in the late 19th century, the Minnesota Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church saw the opportunity for a new congregation. The birth was accomplished in 1889 with the encouragement of other St. Paul Methodist churches. Growth was such that the congregation moved, built, and added on more than once before settling into the present location at Como and Hillside Avenues.

The story repeated itself 60 years later as another new community, Roseville, began to burgeon to the north. Once more, St. Paul Methodists, including several families from the St. Anthony Park Church, organized. Centennial Methodist Church chartered in 1953, while meeting in Lexington School, and the congregation soon began to build at County Rd. C-2 and Snelling Ave.

In 2016, After years of ministry within these neighboring communities, the congregations merged to become Centennial UMC – Two Campuses, offering unique but complementary worship services and ministry opportunities based on the experiences and locations of both predecessor churches.
