CHORAL CONCERT: Rust College AˈCappella Choir (from Holly Springs, Mississippi):

Tuesday, April 23 | 7:00 pm | Roseville Campus

Centennial will host the world renowned 40-voice A'Cappella Choir as they perform a repertoire mix of classical, spirituals, contemporary and traditional gospel in our sanctuary. Rust College is a small, United Methodist affiliated, historically black liberal arts school in Holly Springs, MS, and they travel regionally and nationally to spread the good news about the Rust College. Since their founding in 1866, they have had strong ties to the Iowa/Minnesota/Dakota Conference of the Methodist Church. Over the years the choir has captured the attention of prestigious audiences world-wide. Pastor Brian sent out information regarding the choir and how members can host / house 1-4 students in their home the evening of the concert. Thank you to those who have opened their homes – we have housing for 20 of the 40 singers. Contact the Julie at the church office to help out with housing the rest of the student singers!    Mark your calendars for this amazing program, by an amazing choir!

GOOD FRIDAY: SHADOWS – A Service of TenebraeMusic by Douglas E. Wagner:

Friday, April 19 | 7:00 pm | Roseville Campus

Centennial Chancel Choir, string ensemble, clergy, and lay leaders will lead this service of Tenebrae, which focuses on seven episodes in the Passion and Death of Our Lord (The Watch, The Betrayal, The Denial, The Guilt, The Judgment, The Crucifixion, The Commendation). Each section consists of a reading from the gospel of Matthew or Luke, a choral meditation, and a responsive ready-from one of the seven penitential psalms. The interwoven themes of grief, penitence, pity and forgiveness provide the backdrop to the central meaning of this holy season for all Christians. Please join us for the very special service.
